ST. JOHN VALLEY and BANGOR, Maine (July 8, 2020) – Acadia Federal Credit Union is proud to announce their 2020 Acadia FCU scholarship recipients. Cady Hebert, Zachery Chasse, and Neily Raymond will each receive $2,000 to help fund their college educations.
Recipients were selected based on a written essay, personal and academic achievements, grade point average, and financial need.
“We are so pleased to play a part in helping to finance these deserving students with the Acadia FCU scholarship,” said Jill Bouchard Cairns, Acadia FCU’s Chief Relationship Officer. “We wish these three students the very best in their future endeavors. We are excited to hear all about their first year of college!”
Hebert is a 2020 graduate of Fort Kent Community High School and plans to attend the University of Maine at Fort Kent to study Behavioral Science. She is the daughter of Maurice and Lisa Hebert of Fort Kent.
Chasse is also a 2020 graduate of Fort Kent Community and plans to attend the University of Maine at Orono to study Construction Engineering and Technology. He is the son of Larry and Michelle Chasse of Fort Kent.
Raymond is a 2020 graduate of Hermon High School and plans to attend Bowdoin College to study Neuroscience and English. She is the daughter of Brian and Kendra Raymond of Hermon.
Each $2,000 scholarship will be spread out over two years, with $1,000 awarded to each recipient after the first semester of their first year and the second $1,000 installment payable after the first semester of their second year.
The Acadia Federal Credit Union college scholarship is available to current Maine high school seniors who meet all of the following criteria: (1) Attend an Aroostook, Piscataquis, Penobscot, Washington, or Hancock County high school; (2) Plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university; and (3) Are an active Acadia FCU member or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are active member(s).
High school class of 2021 students who meet eligibility requirements are welcome to apply for the Acadia FCU scholarship, which will be available at acadiafcu.org beginning February 10, 2021.
