ST. JOHN VALLEY, ASHLAND, and BANGOR, Maine (Jan. 30, 2024) – As a financial institution committed to boosting the vibrancy of the communities they serve, Acadia Federal Credit Union is pleased to announce the application period for their scholarship program has officially opened.
The award pool has been increased to $8,000, which is $2,000 more than previous years.
“We strive to embody our core values with hopes of enriching the communities we serve in meaningful ways,” said Acadia FCU VP of Employee Experience, Jill Bouchard Cairns. “Empowering high school seniors to pursue their college dreams by helping to fund those dreams is one way we do this. It’s more than just offering financial assistance; it’s creating pathways with opportunities, while helping to build up the foundation of our next generation.”
Four $2,000 Acadia FCU scholarships will be awarded to graduating Maine seniors who intend to pursue college. The scholarship is available to current Maine Class of 2024 high school seniors who meet ALL of the following eligibility criteria:
- (1) Attend an Aroostook, Hancock, Penobscot, Piscataquis, or Washington County high school;
- (2) Plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university; and
- (3) Are an active Acadia FCU member or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) is/are active member(s).
The goal of this scholarship program is to help high school graduates alleviate the financial burden of their college education. Those who meet the scholarship criteria may complete the application online at acadiafcu.org. The deadline to apply is April 14, 2024.
